From the outside looking in, Asher seems like a typical 10-year-old boy. He loves playing catch outside, can crush his favorite video game, and enjoys school (well, every subject except math).
But on the inside, Asher is hurting...
He was physically abused by his dad and exposed to sexual content at far too young an age. The one person who should've protected him broke his trust. Not knowing how to cope with the pain, Asher struggles with destructive behaviors, a lack of self-control, and dishonesty. Recurring nightmares scare him at night.
During a recent incident, Asher said, "I just want to die."
